about the site

A fanlisting is a group of people who like something: i.e. a group of people who like wolves. All a fanlisting is is a list of fans to do with that particular person, item, or object; it joins together people with similar interests.

sakura

Once upon a time, Kinomoto Sakura scattered the Clow Cards and undertook the moniker of cardcaptor in order to get them back. She succeeded in this task and became their new mistress, and eventually, transformed them all into her very own Sakura Cards.

Cardcaptor Sakura has endeared since its initial run back in 1996. There was something about Sakura, her tenacity, her growth, her kindness: her invincible spell of that, no matter what was to happen and even if she didn't fully understand it, everything was surely to be alright. It's a staple of mahou shoujo to have empowered girls who - literally and metaphorically - grow and transform, to save the day in their flashy outfit and power of choice, and there's probably one that means a lot to you. For me, that's Sakura.

That's underselling it. Sakura is what shaped me as a kid. She was an ideal of goodness and kindness and always, always trying. She led my fandom interests as a teenager, the female characters I always look for and have fallen in love with since, the ones with inner strength and resolve. Cardcaptor Sakura was my entry point into the animanga scene and I couldn't ask for a better one; it was the first interest that was solely my own, one that I sought out, and without it, without Sakura, my interests would be far different.

Perhaps not. I reckon I would have found her eventually. As is, I don't have to imagine a life without Sakura; she means so much to me, and I always come back for her. (Honestly, Clear Card's existence is a dream come true for more anime to add into my near-yearly rewatch of the series. There's a few fandoms I have encyclopaedic knowledge of and Cardcaptor Sakura is one of them.)

I'm also surrounded by her daily given that Sakura is the character I allow myself a no figure limit on. There are too many nendoroids and cute things and you bet I could own them all if money was no object... alas.

Honestly, I don't know how much of a case I'm making for how much I love Sakura. It's like my other absolute favourites... there comes a point where they just are. Where they're a part of you and who you strive to be. After fourteen years (that right there makes me feel super old) in the site making business, to now be the maintainer of Sakura's fanlisting is indescribable. I don't really have the words. I'm glad I applied and was given this chance. Thank you so much for entrusting her to me. Hopefully I have and can continue to do her justice.

and all my stars is named after the poem by E.E. Cummings: "you are my sun, my moon, and all my stars", as it's extremely fitting not just for how I feel about Sakura as a character, but her power is primarily that of her own stars, whilst Clow's was that of the sun and moon. I like me some good meaningful names that I decide upon right away.
